Benefit Brow Bar Review

After || Before

A little while back I popped into my local Debenhams to get my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar. This was the fourth of fifth time I’ve had them done by Benefit and I’ve never really done a proper review, so here are my thoughts on the process and  the results.

BENEFIT BROW BAR REVIEW…

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE: I have had mixed experience with the customer service when getting my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar. One woman was utterly grumpy and rude. If I hadn’t known any better I’d have suspected she was having a bad day but my best friend has had the same experience with her. Another of the women was pleasant and polite and the third woman I’ve had do my brows there was super chatty and friendly and gave me a great experience. I suppose it’s a personal thing and now that I’ve had a really positive experience I’ll be sure to book in with her again.

THE BROW SERVICE: This is arguably the most important part of the review. The Benefit Brow Bar is a great place to start if you’re just beginning your brow taming journey. On your first appointment the staff really talk you through what the process entails and exactly how they’re going to make your brows look. I also have a little bald patch at the top of one of my brows and the woman explained  that was normal and showed me how she’d fill it in. The only negative I can see is that some people might feel uncomfortable getting their beauty treatment done in front of a store full of shoppers because at my Debenhams in particular the stand is in a very busy area of the store right above the escalators and you do get people gawking at you as  they pass. This doesn’t bother me but I know a few people who wouldn’t like that at all. Getting your brows done consists of two parts:

THE TINT: This comes first and does what it says on the tin. I go for a medium tint but they have different colours to suit those with different brow needs. Getting a tint means that I can worry a lot less about filling in my eyebrows as they immediately look fuller and more prominent. I find the lasting power quite good, although it has definitely worn off by the time I get round to my next brow appointment.

THE WAX: This is the final part of the process and no, it doesn’t hurt. It’s super quick and easy and is really nothing to worry about. They do a great job of getting rid of stray hairs and neatening up those angles. They’ll give your existing brows a trim too if they need coercing into shape (mine always do). I’m always pleased with the shape they create and they never do anything you haven’t agreed to first.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE: The assistant will fill in your make up patches if she’s had to take any off before starting the treatment. She will also fill in your brows for you using the Benefit Brow Zings kit. WARNING: DON’T PANIC about the way you look when you leave the store. I love what Benefit do to my brows but I always leave the counter looking like a crazy person. Straight after your treatment they will look a bit too perfect and fake but go home, take the make up off them and have a look in the mirror and you’ll be much happier with what you see.

VERDICT: I’m a very happy Benefit Brow Bar customer and I can’t see myself going anywhere for my eyebrow needs anytime soon.

Let me know how you like to tame those bushy brows and what your favourite eyebrow products are!

xx

    I’m currently in the process of growing my brows out and soon will need to get them waxed back into shape. I had a really bad wax done in feb which left me with stupid small brows so I like that they talk through everything with you! How much do benefit charge for their brow services? Doesn’t say on their site 😦 x

    I really want to get my brows done professionally but I’m so scared of letting someone else loose on them, since I actually quite like mine! Never thought of looking into benefit so thanks so much for the review! I’ll be sure to check it out (:

    • I had exactly the same feeling when I first started going. I had only plucked my eyebrows myself and letting someone at them was so scary. I think the fact that they talk through what they’re going to do is really helpful and would hopefully put your mind at ease at the beginning of an appointment. xx

  3. I’ve always wanted to try getting my brows done at benefit! Is it pricey? X

    • The wax and tint is £18 I’m not sure what the prices are individually, sorry. It’s not cheap but it’s a price I’m willing to pay for the confidence that I get with well groomed eyebrows. xx

  4. I’ve always really wanted to try getting my brows done at Benefit but was kind of nervous about what to expect. Your review was so detailed that I may just have to book myself in for next months wax 🙂
