Yikes, I haven’t done one of these posts since January! Needless to say I’m very disappointed in myself. I’ve just had so many favourites so far this month that it would be silly of me not to get a post together to share with you all!! Mostly beauty bits but a couple of other things thrown in there too.
Just a handful of favourites that I wanted to share with you this month. Some beauty, fragrance, tv, music and a bit of a random one thrown in there too!
It’s just about gone the middle of the month, so it’s time for another mid month favourites post. Quite a mixture today featuring beauty, fashion, hair, music and tv!
Usually I turn on the radio and just hear noise (#oldlady) with the odd song I really like, but that is not the case right now. I am loving so much of the music on the radio at the moment and I thought I’d share some of my favourites with you guys!
This last month or so has been really stressful with both essay and exam pressure and there are three main songs that I keep going back to, keeping me on course, calming me down and cheering me up.
I know this is not technically an “arty thing” but it’s technically something that I made, so it’s going in this category. So there! Since it was back to the gym today it’s time to get ready. You see the thing is when I was going to the gym last year I would just listen to the radio or the music channels on the screens of the exercise machines but I found that by doing that there were too many periods where I just wasn’t motivated to work hard enough… Either because of a slow song or because a radio presenter was babbling on about something. But this shall no longer be the case! I’ve made a 111 song playlist to take to the gym with me!
It’s lots of fast paced, let’s work hard tracks but I’ve got some slower stuff in here too, because I can’t be going full speed for an entire workout, plus I’ve added some songs that I know will cheer me up if I’m nearing the end a need that extra boost of motivation. Although with some of them I am mildly worried that I’ll start singing along in the gym… Nobody wants to hear that. At the same time I didn’t want to pick any of my favourite, favourite songs because I didn’t want to subconsciously associate them with the gym and not be able to listen to them anymore… A few years ago I made You Talk by Babyshambles my alarm every morning and now it just doesn’t sound the same!
THE BEST OF THE LIST
Here are my top ten (in no particular order) tracks on my gym playlist:
Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis
Holding Out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler
Uprising by Muse
I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked by Ida Maria It’s upbeat and the lyrics will remind me why I’m in the gym–everyone wants to look good naked
Pump It by the Black Eyed Peas
The Final Countdown by Europe
Don’t Stop Believin by Glee Don’t hate me but the Glee version just fills me with such joy
Locked Out of Heaven by Bruno Mars This was my favourite song to work out to in 2013
Somebody Told Me by The Killers
And no list would be complete without… Eye of the Tiger by Survivor
