I recently tried the Prince Charming Shower Gel and the Ultrabland Facial Cleanse from LUSH and I thought I’d do a little review for you all.
LUSH PRINCE CHARMING AND ULTRABLAND REVIEW… |
PRINCE CHARMING has a a 4.8 out of 5 average rating on the LUSH website and is supposed to “sweep you off your feet and carry you off into the sunset, leaving your skin silky soft and smelling lovely”. I have to say that I have liked using this shower gel but I haven’t loved it. My most dominant thought about it, is that it smells so weird. I can’t even put my finger on what it smells like; a mixture between marshmallow, almond, grapefruit, sandlewood… To be completely honest with you, as I hold it up to my nose right now, the more I smell it the sicker I feel. But for use in the shower it’s not completely offensive and does its job as far as a shower gel is concerned. I definitely wouldn’t repurchase this though as there are so many better alternatives on the market (LUSH The Olive Branch for instance).
ULTRABLAND has a 4.6 out of 5 average rating on the LUSH website and is described as “ultra-simple, ultra-effective”. This was recommended to me by a couple of bloggers when I said that I wanted to try The body Shop Camomile Cleansing Balm and I have to say guys, I am so disappointed by this product. Maybe I was just expecting the wrong thing but this is by far the worst LUSH product I have ever tried. The formulation is sticky and waxy, making my skin feel greasy and even when I wash it off with a muslin cloth my face still feels yucky, like the dirt has just been spread around and not removed. I used this again immediately before writing this review just so I could double check I disliked as much as I remembered and I was right. I had to recleanse my face twice just to feel normal again. Not only that but it smells completely disgusting. I’m okay with using horrible smelling beauty products if they do an amazing job but this is definitely not worth it! I really wanted to like this product and maybe it would be great for some people since so many seem to love it but I’m just not a fan. Sorry!
Sorry for the negative reviews this time, guess that’s just the way it goes sometimes. Let me know your favourite LUSH products so next time will be more positive!

I’m glad I read this, it’s nice seeing a post identifying the cons to a product, a lot of people seem afraid to write about them but if you’re not writing your true opinion, then what’s the point at all? I was always curious over the cleanser so thank you, I was worried it was going to be sticky and gloopy. Lovely post 🙂
Thanks lovely. I always post my true opinions and there are a ton of LUSH products I absolutely adore but these two just didn’t do it for me. It’s hard for the cleanser, being so heavy, sticky and I have to say a little abrasive, especially when I compare it to something like my Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm which is just a joy to use. xx
I hated the smell of Prince Charming. Not sure why it scored so high in lush reviews
Each to their own I suppose! 🙂 xx
I avoid lush face products as they make me really greasy too! I haven’t tried Prince Charming but I’m glad I read this

I had no idea but it’s definitely discouraged me from trying anything else. Ah well, can’t win them all! 🙂 xx
I love lush products 🙂 They’re really awesome! Thanks for the review,I think I won’t try this one. I wasn’t sure weather I should try it before, bit now I know I won’t 😦
Okay well I’m glad it was useful. 🙂
