READY FOR SOME SUNSHINE…

I started off with my MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation in NC15 which is my go to, everyday foundation that I’ve been using for absolutely ages. I’ve been through too many tubes of this stuff to count! To avoid shine in unwanted areas I used my holy grail Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent and then moved swiftly on to my eyebrows which I filled in using my Benefit Brow Zings in Medium. I know in a previous post I mentioned that Medium is probably a bit too dark for my brows but I’m actually really growing to like a bit of a heavier brow when I’m doing my make up much lighter.

Next up are my eyes. I primed my eyelids with Soap and Glory It’s About Prime Eyeshadow Underbase in Bright Light. I’m still loving this primer, it lightens my lids and significantly improves the performance of any eyeshadow put over the top of it.I used both the lightest and the darkest shade of my Topshop Eyeshadow Palette in Tawny to do my eyeshadow, taking the goldy shade through my bottom lash line. I was really trying to keep the eyes nice and simple, so I avoided all eyeliner and finished off  with my Maybelline the Falsies mascara.

To conceal the couple of blemishes I’ve been hiding and to brighten the darkness under my eyes I grabbed my Mac Studio Finish Concealer in NW20Now I KNOW I need a lighter shade of this, but I find that using a shade a little bit too dark means that I can better conceal my imperfections when I’m having an awful skin day. This is such a heavy concealer that I only like to use to occasionally, but today was one of those days. Next I popped on my Mac Powder Blush in Fleur Powerwhich is just so beautifully pigmented that you only need the smallest amount for a really lovely pinky spring finish on the cheeks. I highlighted my cheek and brow bones using my Benefit Sun Beam Highlighterbecause although the rest of the look was quite soft, I wanted to go for a more bronzey highlight.

The most important and my favourite part of this look is the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Lipstick in this gorgeous, vibrant summer pink shade. Now this lipstick is very, very old so I don’t know the shade or even if they still produce it (all I know is they don’t do this packaging anymore). I pinched it off my aunt about a year ago when she said she’d never use it again so I have no idea just how old it is… In truth I should probably throw it out, but I just can’t. The colour is stunning and it glides on like it’s brand new. Not only that but it smells absolutely divine… No shame here!
