FOTN My first night out after end of exams!

Just wanted to quickly share with you my make-up look from the other night. Sorry the pictures are a bit rubbish, I couldn’t get any good light and I was running out of time before I actually had to go out!

FOTN END OF EXAMS…

I started my look by using the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer I recently got this for my birthday and I absolutely love it. It smooths my skin over beautifully and is the perfect base for any foundation. I then went in with my MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation in NC15 which is my go to, everyday foundation that I’ve been using for absolutely ages. I hear a lot of bad things about MAC foundations, but this is the one I reach for above all others and I still love it after years of use! Next I concealed my blemishes with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Shade 2 LightI like this shade for blemishes as it’s matte and dark enough that it doesn’t highlight them in the way that shade 1 does. To avoid shine in unwanted areas I use the only powder in my collection, the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent.

Next I fill in my eyebrows using my Benefit Brow Zings in MediumI use an angled brush with the lighter colour of the two to do this, filling them in, rounding them out and then brushing the product through with the spooly off another eyebrow pencil that I’m not as fond of. Once the eyebrow are done I move on to my lids, priming them with the Revlon Photoready Eye Primer and BrightenerThis is a new purchase of mine and I bought it blindly without reading any reviews just going on the tester in Boots. Now, I’m relatively happy with how this performs, it brightens my dull lids and allows more opaque application of eyeshadow shades. The only thing I really dislike about it is the packaging. It just reminds me how much I hate clicky pen applicators, the product always takes ages to come through and when it does you get enough product to prime your eyes three times over. While I like this actual primer, I won’t be purchasing this again out of convenience. From my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette another birthday acquisition, I used the shades Verve, Busted and Blackout to create the silver toned smokey eye, taking a little Blackout underneath into my bottom lashes.

I finished off my eye make-up with the new Rimmel Scandaleyes Gel Eyeliner in Black which I had purchased just the day before so I’m reluctant to give you a proper review on this, all you should know is that I found the application easy and quick, the colour nicely opaque and lasting throughout the night. Along my waterline I used the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Perversion which was also something I’d used for the first time and I thought it did a great job, staying on all night and not smudging at all. I finished off  with my Maybelline the Falsies mascaraanother go to that you just can’t go wrong with and popped on some 007 Eye Candy False Lashes, which I absolutely adore and will wear every night out!

Once the eyes are done I highlight and conceal my under eye area with the Benefit Erase Paste in Fair I also use a little down my nose, I really like this finish of this concealer, it’s brightening creamy and lovely to use! Next I used the highlighter from my Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light across my cheekbone and along my brow bone, finishing off my face with the Sleek Blush in Life’s A Peachjust brushed over the apples of my cheeks. I was really going with strong eyes and lips so I didn’t want to overdo it with a contour as well. Finally the lips, I primed them with my holy grail Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, and then went in with my MAC Lipstick in Girl About TownThis is by far my favourite MAC lipstick, I currently have two tubes of it because my best friend accidentally took it on holiday with her and apparently I couldn’t be without it for two weeks! I finished the lips with a little gloss, although the lipstick does look great without, I just thought why not! And I used Tanya Burr’s Lipgloss in Exotic Island which I think is a really nice compliment to the MAC shade. And that’s your lot!

Yeah… excuse the rubbish lighting in the pictures, sorry guys!

  1. You look lovely! I really want to try the erase paste. I’ve heard such good things about it!

    • Thank you lovely. 🙂 it’s so amazing, I wasn’t sure if the fact that it only has three shades would be annoying but the lightest shade is absolutely perfect for me.
