I bought a few little beauty bits from the make up range at Asda George and I tried them out for this make up look. There’s also some Revlon, Smashbox, MUA, Collection Urban Decay, Soap and Glory and Rimmel in there as well. Hope you like it!
|FOTD: GEORGE ASDA GLOW SHINE HIGHLIGHT WITH RIMMEL CAT EYE…
I primed my skin with (as usual) my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and then popped on my Revlon Colorstay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin in 150 Buff. I filled in my brows using my new Soap and Glory Archery Brow in Hot Chocolate which I think gives a really nice, natural but full finish. I popped on some Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair under my eyes to conceal those troublesome dark circles and then moved on to the eyes.
After that I primed my eyelids with George Eye Primer. I don’t have anything bad to say about this product, it really does a decent job and for £3.50 it seems a little crazy to complain. It does minimise creasing and boost the colour of eyeshadows it just doesn’t good as good a job as some of my favourite primers. Next I popped on some Booty Call and Snakebite from my Naked 2 Palette and just really tried to blend them out subtly. I lined my eyes with the Rimmel Scandaleyes Gel Eyeliner in Black but I used my Wilko Eyeliner Brush for the thick line and my Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush for the flick because I managed to lose the brush it came with. I finished off my eyes by curling my lashes and then going in with the George Curl Em Mascara in Black. This is just £3 so it’s another great bargain and it holds a curl nicely. Unfortunately it does flake considerably throughout the day and it found lots of nasty little black bits in my under eye area after a few hours.
Next I used the George Queen Bee Bronzer in Honey Bronze. Of all of the products I picked up from Asda this is my absolute favourite and I reach for this all of the time, and just £4. Although I’ve done a relatively sharp contour with it here I really like this bronze because it’s not too orangey, it isn’t packed with shimmer and it gives a really subtle bronzed look that’s buildable if you need it. Being so super pale, finding the perfect bronzer is tricky and I’m really enjoying this one. Next up I highlighted with the George Glow Shine Highlighter. This is almost another win for George as it does a really beautiful job of highlighting and in my opinion is a great dupe for Benefit High Beam (£16 cheaper at just £3.50). However the brush that comes with it is ridiculously small and it rubbish at both getting the product out of the glass bottle and applying it to the face. So disappointing as I know there’ll be tons of wasted product and this could be so easily fixed. I also popped on just a tiny bit of the MUA Cream Blusher in Blossom for a wee bit of extra colour on the apples of my cheeks.
On my lips I used my new Revlon Moisture Stain in LA Exclusive which I really like the subtle pink colour of but it just doesn’t last on my lips. Granted I’m not the best judge for lip products because I’m certain I must have the worlds driest lips. It’s not sticky and it does sit quite nicely on my lips. It’s not terribly drying but I’m not certain I’d get it a “Moisture Stain” title either.
Hope you liked my casual little FOTD
