Mid Month Favourites: February 2016

anxiouslybold

Time for another assortment of mid month favourites. This is really just all the things I’ve been loving for the beginning of 2016. Mostly beauty but also an internet tv and fashion favourite in here too.

MID MONTH FAVOURITES: FEBRUARY 2016

critical role I want to talk about the favourite I’m most excited about first, Critical Role. I’ve been watching this show since the beginning, I’m obsessed and it just keeps getting better. Critical Role features a group of voice actors playing a game of Dungeons and Dragons run by Matthew Mercer. The game is so immersive and Matt verbally creates the world in such a graphic, detailed way that half the time I’m convinced I’m watching a film with stunning special effects. The players are all wonderfully intelligent and utterly charming and their characters are all lovable in their own individual way. If I only watch one program a week, and oftentimes that’s all I have time for, then it’s always Critical Role. Live on the Geek and Sundry Twitch Channel, 7pm PST, all previous episodes are available to catch up with as well!
The Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment (£85/30ml) is another of my favourites this month. I understand that this is a little pricey but I really do love everything about this product. I use this as an overnight treatment when my skin needs a bit of a pick me up. It brightens and smooths, increasing circulation and making skin feel plump and vibrant. It’s got a lovely scent and is a real feel good, pamper product at bedtime. Great for hyper pigmentation and scars, this treatment works wonders. sunday riley good genes
eyeko black magic mascara The Eyeko Black Magic Mascara (£18) has been my go to for a couple of months now, I’m already on my second tube of the stuff. The curved bristled wand is pliable and easy to use, it really makes my eyelashes look longer and fuller. The only downside is that the formulation of the product is very wet, meaning that if you aren’t careful when you first apply it, it transfers very easily onto the lid. That being said, it’s definitely worth  the extra seconds of patience for the long lasting effect of this wonderful product.
I’ve been wearing Topshop jeans for a really long time now but this month I bought myself a new pair and fell in love all over again. These are the Super High Waisted Joni Jeans (£36) and I just want to wear them everywhere and always. Somehow they’re just softer and more comfortable than normal jeans but they give you a really nice shape and are incredibly flattering. They may seem a little pricey, but I’d say they’re entirely worth it. topshop joni jeans
maybelline instant age rewind concealer I know the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (£7.99/7ml but currently 3 for 2 at Boots) is a firm favourite of so many beauty lovers but I only got round to purchasing one this year. I’ve always been so put off by the sponge applicator, but oh how wrong I was! This concealer is perfect for under the eyes. It applies and blends really easily, brightening and concealing all in one. I’m over halfway through my tube and it hasn’t got nearly as messy as I’d expected. So pleased with this inexpensive gem.
I’ve had my The Balm Mary Lou Manzier Highlighter (£17.50/8.5g) for a good while now. I think I purchased this almost immediately after putting it in one of my wishlist posts. Just as I expected, this is the most gorgeous golden, shimmery highlighter. I’ve been wearing this every single day to brighten up the tops of my cheeks and add a highlight to the inner corner of my eye. It’s got a lot of shimmer but unless you really pack it onto the skin it’s far more glowy than disco ball. I adore this product and I’ve already hit pan.  the balm mary lou manizer
barefoot sos dry scalp treatment shampoo I hadn’t heard of this brand until I was frantically online searching for a shampoo to alleviate my sore, dry scalp. Barefoot SOS Dry Scalp Treatment Shampoo (£13/200ml) luckily came to the rescue. Before Christmas my doctor diagnosed me with having eczema but didn’t really provide me with a solution for my scalp. This treatment is soothing and nourishing, it smells incredibly fresh, leaving my hair feeling clean and my scalp gaining the balanced nourishment it requires. So pleased with this!
Next is my nail polish favourite of the month. The Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days nail polish in 130 rose poudre (£4.49/10ml but currently 3 for 2 at Boots). Firstly, I really like the formulation of these Maybelline polishes, they glide onto the nails and really do stay put for a good amount of time. I also love the applicator brush, it’s a little wider than normal but really makes painting my large nails much quicker, neater and easier. This colour itself, I have to admit, I didn’t really like the first time I used, but it’s really grown on me. I love that it goes with everything, that it’s simple and chic and incredibly flattering for a lot of different skin tones. I haven’t been wearing anything else. maybelline super stay 7 day nail polish in 130
beautiful flowers Last but by no means least is probably my favourite favourite of the month, my gorgeous Valentine’s Day flowers. I don’t usually go for Valentine’s Day but I do love me some flowers. These are perfect and make me really happy. I’m a very lucky woman.

That’s all for this month guys, thanks for reading. Have you tried any of these products, I’d love to hear your thoughts as well as some of your favourites for the month.
