I’m starting a little series I’ve decided that I’ll come back to now and again: Sample Sunday. I have so many samples of things lying around that I never use, or use and never end up putting on the blog. I thought it would be useful to put these items to the test and report back my thoughts to you. The first edition features Benefits Porefessional (excuse the filthy sample?), Roller Lash Mascara and They’re Real Tinted Primer.
SAMPLE SUNDAY: BENEFIT REVIEW FT. POREFESSIONAL, ROLLER LASH AND THEY’RE REAL TINTED PRIMER |

First up is the They’re Real Tinted Primer. I have to be honest, I didn’t expect to like this product at all, it is essentially a mascara that you put on before your actual mascara, and it definitely seems like an unnecessary step to add to your make up routine. However this is a real hit for me. It improves the staying power and hold of my mascara, which applies so effortlessly over the top. It reduces flaking, running and transferring of mascara drastically (something I really suffer from with my hooded eyelids). At the moment I’m mostly using it for special occasions and when I actually get the time to do a full face of make up, but I’ll definitely consider purchasing the full size when it runs out. |
The Porefessional is a much loved primer among so many in the beauty community. I myself, like it a lot, it smooths over large pores on my nose, improving the appearance of the skin texture, and providing a perfect base for foundation. It also improves the longevity of my make up however, I don’t think it does as good a job as the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, which is my go to for a long wearing make up look. Although this product does the job, I probably wouldn’t purchase the full size when I have something I know I like better. | ![]() |

Last but not least is the Roller Lash Mascara. Since I got this sample, in a magazine I believe, this mascara has become a well loved addition to my make up bag. I would say that it adds more length than volume but it does build up some gorgeous volume at the root, which I absolutely love, I’m definitely not a clumpy lash sort of woman. It separates the lashes beautifully, holds and lasts all day long. This is also one of the few mascaras I’m completely confident using on my bottom lashes. I’ve really been enjoying using this mascara and while I would happily use the full size, it’s unlikely I’ll buy one any time soon just because mascara is one of those products I like to try a lot of! Gorgeous product though, one of my top ten favourite mascaras for sure. |
Those are all of my Sample Sunday products for today. Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts? If not I hope you have a lovely week.

The Roller Lash mascara didn’t do anything for my upper lashes, but I really like to wear it on my lower lashes because the skinny wand is just perfect for them. :o)
