I’ve been hideously ill for all of the Easter holiday so my blog post writing bonanza has not taken placed as planned. I have managed to throw together an empties post however, so here it goes… All my recent empties and their accompanying review.
EMPTIES: LOVE, LIKE OR LOATHE… |
LIKE || Umberto Giannini Mend My Hair Therapy Intensive Damage Repair 5-in-1 Oil for £7.99/100ml, but is currently on 3 for 2 at Boots. I have been a huge fan of this brand for a really long time. Their moisture mask is an absolute must have for conditioning my hair and their dry shampoo is probably my all time favourite, as mentioned in my previous empties post. I love this product and I use about a one pence coin sized amount in the mid lengths to ends on towel dry hair every single time I wash it. It smoothes, aids detangling and leaves my dry hair feeling nourished and sleek, something I find very difficult to achieve. The only reason I’ve decided to give this one a like instead of a love is because honestly hair oils are very much of a muchness for me and although I’ll continue to repurchase this one I think any oil will probably do the same job.
LOVE || Dove Maximum Protection Go Fresh Pomegranate and Lemon Deodorant Cream for £4.99/45ml, it seems like an odd one to include in my empties post but I have used all of this up. TMI? This is my regular deodorant that I’ve probably been using for the last five years (since they first brought it out I’m sure). I don’t really know what to tell you about it. It’s gentle on the under arms and smells very sweet and soft. It doesn’t leave white marks although it does manage to provide a lot of protection against wetness. I’m confident wearing this every day and to the gym, I haven’t used anything else in a long time and always have a back up ready to go.
LOVE|| Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant £20.00/3.7g. This is honestly my holy grail lip balm that I have repurchased time and time again. I cannot be without this in my make up kit and this comes from a woman who has made it her life’s mission to find the perfect lip balm. This one isn’t perfect, but it’s the best thing that I’ve got so far. It applies really easily, creating a sheer moisturised finish that looks really pretty if you wear it alone on a subtle or no make up day. It doesn’t cling to any dry patches and really provides a sturdy barrier between your lips and the outside world. My favourite part about this balm is that lipsticks, lipliners, lip glosses, all other lip products apply like a dream over the top. I have found no better lipstick primer than this lip balm. I only wish it wasn’t so pricey, not because I mind, I think it’s 100% worth it, but because its the sort of product I want to tell the whole world to try (definitely one of my most recommended products)!
LIKE || Lush Rub Rub Rub for £8.95/350g. I wrote a full review about this product on my blog back in September of 2014 which you can read over here. My opinion of the product hasn’t much changed so I don’t have a lot to add. It smells divine, it’s incredibly quick and easy to use in the shower and it does a great job of smoothing and exfoliating legs ready for shaving. One of my go to shower items which I have already repurchased.
LIKE || Sensodyne Pronamel Gentle Whitening Toothpaste £4.49/75ml, on a 2 for £6 offer at Boots. I know that this is another one of those weird things that people don’t really talk about on their blogs; toothpaste. But I’ve been using this for a while now and I thought I should give it some love. I’ve always liked the thought of a whitening toothpaste but my dentist always tells me how thin the enamel on my teeth is so I can’t really use the traditionally abrasive whiteners. I like that this a happy medium between whitening and protecting my enamel. Other than that what can I say, it cleans my mouth, keeps my teeth fresh. Thumbs up.
LIKE || Maybelline Mascara Falsies £7.99/9ml. This is a well loved mascara in the beauty community so I’m not going to bore you too much. This is one of my all time favourite high street mascaras but I still can’t say that I love it because in honesty I’m yet to find a mascara that I really love and will stay loyal to. I’m really fond of the jet black full lash effect that you get with this mascara though, it looks greats and it wears really well throughout the day.
LOATHE || Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara £21.00/8ml. I’m aware that I only had the sample size in this and I may well have got one from a bad batch, but I always think that with mascaras you should be able to tell from a sample. For some reason I was really expecting this to be like the Clinique High Impact Mascara (which I adore), maybe because their brushes are similar in my mind. This mascara does nothing for my lashes, it’s a little clumpy and droops after first application. The wand is easy to use and gives a nice voluminous effect at first but the formula is a flop for me.
LIKE || Sebnini of England Velvet Rose Candle £10.99/299g. I actually picked this candle up at TK Maxx, as I do so many of my candles. What can I say, I’m an impulse candle buyer?! Usually they aren’t the best quality but I was really pleased with how evenly it burned down and how long it lasted for just a small glass jar. The jar itself is very pretty and sat very nicely on the top of my dressing table. The rose scent, which I am not usually a huge fan of, was subtle, warm, floral and light. Such a lovely affordable candle that I would definitely recommend.
LIKE || L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Silver Shampoo £16.45/1500ml. You may or may not be able to tell from this HUGE bottle of shampoo, that I use this stuff an awful lot. I already have another bottle going in my shower. This shampoo really brightens the blonde in my coloured hair and keeps away ashy tones. It can be used once or twice a week for this purpose, however when I use it everyday, it turns the lighter parts of my hair a gorgeous silver/lilac colour that I have received a lot of compliments on over the years. I mostly use it once a week these days, but it’s still an essential part of my hair care routine.
Hope you enjoyed my little empties review post and you have a lovely Easter!
xx
