Empties: Love, Like or Loathe

This is my first ever empties post on the blog and it’s really only a smallish one. Since I’ve never done one before I haven’t really been saving up many of my empty products to show you, but I came across a few all at once and decided to give it a go. If it’s a success I might have to start storing things up for these posts!

LOVE || Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for £3-5/400ml (it’s always on offer somewhere, you just have to find it!). Previous to this my lazy day make up remover was the Bioderma Sensibio H20 which I still love but it’s more expensive and it does exactly the same job. In fact I’d probably say I prefer this Garnier formula because it smells nicer and tends to sting my eyes a little less. My mum insists that they both sting her eyes and won’t stop using make up wipes on  them (much to my dismay) but hey, you can’t please them all! I currently have two bottles of this on standby and I’m halfway through another (hoarder), this is an absolute must have for me right now!

LIKE || Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Body Buttercream £10.50/300ml, but Soap and Glory is almost always on 3 for 2 at Boots (hooray!). Now the fact that I’ve got through an entire 300ml tub of this stuff proves that I like it. It’s a really nice body butter that leaves my skin feeling moistured and refreshed for the rest of the day. I like to use it when I get out of the shower or to give my legs a bit of extra moisture before a night out. What I will say is that it takes a lot of rubbing in so it’s not great for those days when you’re in a rush. On the packaging the fragrance is described as Pistachio, Almond and Sweet Vanilla, which I would say is accurate. It’s a strong smell and it does linger on the skin so you’ll want to make sure it’s for you before you purchase! I probably won’t be repurchasing this soon but only because there are so many other amazing body moisturisers I want to try.

LOVE || Vera Wang Princess Perfume £24/100ml. This has been one of my favourite perfumes for years and while some may argue that it’s quite a young smell (it is), I don’t really care. This is maybe my third bottle of the stuff and I have two on standby BECAUSE I’M A SERIAL HOARDER (send help). I find this fragrance has amazing staying power and I always get wonderful compliments on it. It’s a great summer/daytime scent which is unusual for me because most of my perfumes are really eveningy. It’s light and floral and fruity and it makes me feel super girly when I’m wearing it.

LOVE || Umberto Giannini Indulgent Beauty Moisture Mask £5.61/200ml, but is usually on a 3 for 2 or 2 for £8 offer at Boots. Now I stumbled upon Umberto Giannini hair products maybe three or four years ago now (thank to Boots and  their cheeky deals!) and I’ve never looked back. I love so many of their products and this is one of my favourites. Because I dye my hair so often (shock horror the silver blonde isn’t natural, sorry guys), it means  that it can get super dry and ratty and just generally unpleasant looking. This mask fixes all my problems. Most days I will use this as an ordinary conditioner because it does the same job but better but on particularly bad hair days I’ll leave it in for a few minutes while I shave or exfoliate or pop on a face mask and when I wash it off my hair feels transformed. Now that might sound like an exaggeration to you but it’s truly, truly not. This product is amazing and you guessed it, I have two back ups ready to go. (Creature of habit meets hoarder, worst combination ever?)

LOVE || Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream £23/15ml. Origins is another one of my favourite brands and this eye cream is no exception. I have terrible problems with the dark circles under my eyes as well as dark, veiny skin on my eyelids. This cream does such an amazing job of brightening my under eye area and on days when I woke up puffy it did an incredible job of soothing and shrinking those bags. The only reason I won’t be repurchasing this is because I’ve moved onto the Origins Mega-Bright Dark Circle Minimizer which just works a little better for my particular concern and I love even more. Can’t recommend Origins skincare enough!

Hope you enjoyed my little empties review post. Bit long winded but I bolded the important bits if you felt a bit tl;dr!

Great post. I keep meaning to do one but I always forget and throw things away x

  2. I never finish stuff unless I put a real effort into it! Some months I’m much better than others! I really want to try that micellar water, it sounds so quick and easy 🙂 x

Loved the post! I recently started using the Garnier Micellar Water and I’m so happy with it! I actually wrote a review post for it on my blog which will go live tomorrow morning if you wanted to check it out! x
